The Bisserov Sisters (Sestri Bisserovi) from Bulgaria were born in the village of Pirin, up in the mountains. Everybody in their family sang: grandfather, father, mother... Its in this family, among songs and tunes, dances and customs, that they learnt their first song.
The Bisserov Sisters do the antiphone singing characteristic of the Pirin region. Ljubimka sings the first part. Mitra and Neda steadily and tunefully "lay" the second part. All three of them have mastered the original musical ornaments that are so typical of the region.
In concerts they perform accompanied by the instrumental trio Karadžovska. All three of them have graduated at the conservatory at Plovdiv, with folklore as speciality. Their starting point is the combination of their own original stíle with traditional melodies.
